BLACK SWAN: Cygnus atratus Identifying characteristics: Very large black bird with long slender neck. Dark red and orange bill with white bar near tip. White tipped wings, that are only visible in flight.
Distribution: Found in south east and south west parts of Australia, Side inlets in Tinaroo dam, Nardellos Lagoon, near Walkman and occasionally at Hasties swamp near Atherton.
